Do Muslims and Christians worship the same God?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the God of Abraham. Arabic-speaking Christians called God Allah before Islam existed and still do in Arabic Bibles, and Allah, elah, elaha and ilah are cognates of the same Semitic root. The disagreements between the two faiths are about how God's nature is described, not about which God is being addressed.

Can a Muslim believe Jesus is the Son of God?

Accepted Answer

A Muslim can affirm the title as scripture's own idiom uses it — unique, chosen, standing in a special relationship to God. What Islam refuses is literal, physical begetting. The Greek monogenēs is built from monos and genos ("one of a kind"), not gennaō ("to beget"), and Hebrews 11:17 applies it to Isaac even though Ishmael was born first. Scripture calls Israel, David's heir, Adam and the peacemakers sons of God in the same covenantal sense.

Can a Muslim confess that Jesus is Lord?

Accepted Answer

In the sense the Greek carries, yes. Kyrios means an authoritative master or appointed representative, and Peter frames the status as bestowed: "God has made this Jesus both Lord and Messiah." What Islam declines is reading the word as co-equality with the Creator — a boundary Jesus himself keeps when he says the Father is greater than he is.

Does Islam meet the Bible's test for the spirit of the antichrist?

Accepted Answer

No. The test John gives is denying that Jesus is the Christ and denying that he came in the flesh. Islam affirms both explicitly: Jesus is al-Masih, the Christ, and he was a real man who ate food and was born of Mary. The epistles never make a metaphysical claim about Jesus's essence the test.

Why does this site separate the words of Jesus from Paul's letters?

Accepted Answer

Because the sources are not identical and readers deserve to see which is which. Jesus's own answers to people asking how to inherit eternal life name the one God, the commandments, mercy and repentance. The confession formula in Romans 10:9 is Paul's. Marking it does not delete it — it shows where each requirement originates and leaves open the reasonable question of whether a later apostle carries the same authority as the Messiah.

Do Muslims deny the crucifixion?

Accepted Answer

Muslims deny that Jesus's enemies defeated him. Quran 4:157 says they did not kill him and did not crucify him to death, but it was made to appear so to them, and God raised him to Himself. The Alive on the Cross study on this site works through the Greek and the gospel details — the sign of Jonah, Hebrews 5:7, egeirō versus apoktanthēnai, the blood and water, the flesh and bones — that make survival and divine rescue a coherent reading of the texts themselves.

Neither text teaches earning Heaven unaided. Paul says salvation is by grace; the Prophet Muhammad said no one enters Paradise by his deeds alone but by God's mercy. Both traditions hold faith, repentance, obedience and divine mercy together. The difference is where mercy is routed, not whether it is needed.

What is the bare minimum required to enter Paradise in Islam?

Sincere tawhid — bearing witness that God is one with no partner and that Muhammad is His final messenger, which includes believing the prophets before him such as Jesus — while keeping the obligatory worship, repenting sincerely for what you break, and relying on God's mercy rather than your own record.

Does rejecting the Trinity mean rejecting God's nature?

Islam's non-negotiable is that nothing is equivalent to God. Language about God's word and spirit exists in Islam too; what is refused is co-equality, not mystery. A reader can hold a great deal of Trinitarian language provided nothing is placed as God's equal.

Why not just pick a label — Christian or Muslim?

Accepted Answer

Because a label is not what either scripture asks for. Both ask for the one God, righteousness, repentance and mercy. This site is one Muslim's reading of how much of that road is genuinely shared. It is not a scholarly ruling, and only God knows best.
